ZINEB BELRHITI

I’m a multidisciplinary artist from Morocco and I have recently concluded my bachelor degree in Arts and Sciences at University College London. 

I grew up in the United Arab Emirates, where I was exposed to a wide range of cultures but also to a growing manifestation of westernisation. This has stimulated my creativity and I’ve come to enjoy playing with the intersection of Arab traditions and popular culture in my illustrations.
My work is above all amusing and playful but it also is, in a way, a call to dispel the idea that cultures are incompatible and to celebrate the ambiguity and diversity of Arab identity in the modern world.

I’m hoping to tell people’s stories and convey emotion through my art while exploring different subjects and mediums such as illustration, photography and videography.  I am passionate about the creative process that comes with making a piece and the wide possibilities of outcome that can emerge from it.
